IM MOVIN UP IN THE WORLD!!!!!!! (and I guess out of the world too....)

I couldnt decide If I should make that the title for this week or If I should try quoting monty python again and say : "and there was much feasting upon the alfajors, and the milinasas, and the noodles, and the sauces, and the bread, and the many assortments of breakfast cereals." Im feeling pretty good this week

Man Im just on a spiritual high this week

6 words:.
Multi-mission conference with an Apostle.
Yeah, nuf said

That was such a cool talk that Elder Dalin H Oaks gave. Honestly Ive just been bouncing off the walls since then just super inspired about pretty much everything. My comp and I went crazy this week and pretty much did everything we could. I love Elder Sims. He's so cool and amazing.

Anyway guess who came to church yesterday!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!? ERMESINDO!!!!!!!!!
WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO

Man when I saw him walk in to the priesthood class (we have priesthood first and sacrament last here) that I actually happened to be teaching....... lets just say that that was a super gangsta moment! (does that phrase work here....... you get the drift;D) Oh my goodness. and that day, just happened to be the lesson based on the conference talk by President Uchtdorf Receiving a testimony light and truth. Can I just say the lords Chocolate chip cookies right there:D:D:D:D:D:D:D (Thats code for tender mercies in Elder Sims language) We (Elder Sims and I) also both ended up giving talks yesterday. Haha, yeah, yesterday was pretty intense. hahahahhha Though after church was pretty sweet too.

Every sunday we bring this 94 year old lady the sacrament. Her name is chacita (literally translated that means little tiny) Im not sure what her real name is, but thats okay. we call her our mom and she absolutely loves it. Anyways we got to the old folks home yesterday and there was a party going on. Everyone there knows us and most of them love us, so they invited us in. There was a amazing hot chocolate, cake, what the Uruguayans call pizza (its really good, but haha, I dont think its pizza), and a really cool old guy playing an electric accordion. I need to start visiting more old folks homes. Those guys know how to party.

Man yesterday was just a super sweet day. I love sunday. Its so nice. Make the most of it.

What else happened this week........
my comp got attacked by a cat. to which I proceeded to follow the example of my older brother.............
My comp has been studying Isaiah and has found some super sick scriptures.
Im trying to do the 40 day challenge of memorizing one scripture every day for forty days. Im on day 26 right now. Its been really cool. Ive had several experiences already where Ive been able to quote a scripture in a situation that could really use one.

Lets just say that the words of the prophets are pretty cool.

Other than that, this weeks been full of a lot of talking to people in the streets, clapping houses (haha anyone who has served a south south american mission, that may bring back memories), teachin, preachin, and learning. Oh my goodness a lot of learning. Ever since that talk from Elder Oaks...... man, Like i said, Ive been on a spiritual high this week.

Anyways, I hope yall have a splendid week, do something kind to someone. It will make their day. Try to be truthful in all things. The spirit bears truth of all things and thus resides with those who are truthful. Its pretty sweek,

Love yall,
Elder Eliason

THIS WEEK HAS BEEN CRAZY! AND GUESS WHAT! I GET TO MEET AN APOSTOLE TOMORROW!!!!!!!! Elder Oaks is com'in down to uruguay to say hi and empower us with might words through a majestic devotional. IM PSYCHED!!!!!!!:D though it is going to be a 10 hour bus ride there and a ten hour bus ride back!!!!!!!! I'll probably write more about this next week but guess what else!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I HIT 6 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!
THAT SEEMS SO CRAZY! I dont feel old! Im only in my second area still. That was kind of a weird moment. We celebrated by milking alfajors (see the pics)
So anyways, I must begin now with stories from this week
The Tale of Ermesindo:
Once upon a time, there came a day when the majestic elder Sims and the young squire Elder Eliason found themselves walking though the streets of varela, heading towards a charla. Suddenly, Elder Sims found himself talking with a kind man and giving him a because he lives pass along card. They discovered his name and address and promised to visit another time. Not thinking much of the contact, they continued on their way.
A couple days passed till the time appointed to visit the man and the two missionaries headed to his house. It was soon discovered that he was golden. For after talking and playing a quick card game with him (we still have no clue how to play that game. haha that was pretty funny. we would just lay down cards and he would tell us it we won or lost. Afterwards, referring to the poker episode of studio c, my comp told me "I was literally just doing what mat was doing" That made me laugh) they showed him the video because he lives and taught him the plan of salvation. It was such a great lesson, and he asked amazing questions about how he could see his parents again and such.
though they had invited him to baptism and all, the two missionaries had forgotten to invite him to church that sunday, leaving them in hope and stress on saturday. After passing by his house and trying to call him to no avail, they resorted to prayer. Then the tender mercies (or as Elder Sims puts it "The lords chocolate chip cookies") came. They found themselves standing at the gate of a menos activo, who lives on the opposite side of the pueble, mid afternoon Saturday day (yeah, i think that works), talking and trying to get him back to church, when suddenly guess who passes by.  ERMESINDO!!!!! He waved to us and smiled. As quickly and politely as they could, the two missionaries concluded their discussion with the menos activo and set a time to come back and visit him again, then took off in pursuit. Although at first they thought they had lost him, some quick walking brought him to their sights. After greeting him and talking for a bit, they were able to ask if he would like to attend church the following day. Before they said anything else, he had already asked them where it was and when.
I love this guy. Im super psyched to teach him again tonight. He's super cool. I really hope he progresses.
The End
We also had some cool experiences where the lord prepared us before hand to teach what we needed to, but I have already written a fairly long letter.
Love you all and hope you have an amazing week. Moroni is a boss. Alma 48:17 Try to be like him. It will make your life so happy.

It's a wonderful life

Haha, thats a shoutout for you mom. I hope you were able to watch all your favorite classic movies this year and convince all my wonderful siblings to join you.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Really, it is a wonderful life:) The work here in varela is hard. Much more difficult than in Maldonado, but so great!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D First off, my comp is super amazing :D and great (haha... although I have found myself listening to play by play doctor who episodes from him while working on maps and finding members the other day. He is super goofy and off the walls, but can also be super spiritual when he needs to be.), the members are starting to warm up to us :)(we´ve recently been working on regaining some lost trust from past times. kind of sad, but they're starting to really like the missionaries again:D), I'm learning a ton, and we've had some really cool charlas with investigators. Yep. Its a wonderful life:)

Im not going to write too much today, but I do want to say that I love giving blessings. I used to be super afraid to do so, but I had a really cool experience this past week giving one that really effected both me and the person I was giving the blessing to. Its really quite amazing to see how the lord can work through his imperfect servants.

Anyways, I hope y'all (hahaahha I love that word, I've been teaching it to the latino missionaries) have a fantastic week:D You guys are amazing and really are part of the anchor to my soul .

Have a fantabulous week:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Smile at someone:D make someone's day. It's not hard, sometimes all it takes is a small act of kindness or a hug in the hallway:)

Four score and 0 days ago twas when this week commenced

For this week twas quite dandy and marvelous. Each of the fine days began with the fluid and glorious music of two Elders belting out Recuerde Esto (the last page of Preach my gospel) to the tunes of Redeemer of Israel, or Called to Serve. Many wonderful actions such as this came to pass. However, I twould like to relate the account of several spiritual stories that were viewed this week.

So first off, I must thank Sister Davidson for inspiring me to do this, but lately I have been trying to just follow any possible inspiration of the spirit in an attempt to better learn how to recognize them. And thus the story commences....... One shady night, with darkness enveloping them on all sides, Elder Sims and I headed home to the apartment. Upon reaching the door, we found a group of 6 people sitting there talking. Greeting us kindly, one of the guys told us "buenos tardes Elderes." This not being a common thing being referred to as elders. We acknowledged it as kind of weird, but simply returned the greeting and entered the house. Upon entering the house, I had the thought that we needed to contact that man. It was a firm thought and I found myself telling my willing companion that I think we should talk to that guy. Being 9:05 we knew we had to hurry and find a non awkward way to approach him. A plan formed and we took action!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jido (our monthyly allouance) had come in that day. As a result, phase one to operation "contact mysterious man at our door" was to go take out Jido (giving us a reason to leave our house). Phase two was the difficult part that required a bit of luck. Background information: We have a door with an exciting lock. By saying exciting what I really mean is that after inserting the key and turning it all the way, you have to keep turning it back and forth normally about 50 times before the door opens (our record is 264 clicks.......... That was an arm workout just clicking the key back and forth...... It kind of looks like we're trying to break into our own house). anyways, The plan was to contact him while trying to unlock our door. It worked perfectly!!!!! I began clicking the lock, and of course they commented on our lock problem and we began joking about it. When I finally got the door open, we had yet to contact (talk about the gospel) him, so I walked over and just continued our conversation about the lock. after a bit, he mentioned that his daughter was a member in MALDONADO!!!!!!! MY HOME TOWN SON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that he lives on the same street as our church building! His daughter is the ward hymn conductor and is super cool. We talked about her for a bit and I gave him a #graciasaqueelvive tarjeta with the number for the elders in maldonado. that was cool. They also gave us food. That made the experience even better.

Well, that took longer to tell than I thought, sooooo..... Ive got to go, but before I depart.....

HAPPY EASTER  !!!!!!!!!!!
