IM SINGIN IN VARELA, JUST SINGIN IN VARELA, WHAT A GLORIOUS FEELIN

This week has been such a spiritual high. Its weird. We havent had a ton of success in the sense that we had a bunch of people in the church, but we have had a bunch of lessons that were super spiritual and where I could feel the lord guiding us.

Lets see... It all began with the reading of the consecration talk. For in preparation for a Zone conference, we had been sent a few items to read. This specific one really touched and inspired me, leaving me with a new found strength. Thats when it all began. After that, well the entire week was elevated. By the time of the conference, I really felt different. Lets just say that that was pretty much the best zone conference ever including interviews with President Cook and his wife (bwahahaha Hermana cook is great)! That was a blast.  :D

The next day was even better. IT RAINED!!!!!!!!!!! :D Its been super weird. Uruguay has been going through an unusual dry season, leaving the people a bit worried. Normally rain days are harder given that there is no one in the streets, but, well Day of rain = day of miracles. We woke up singing there is sunshine in my sole today (tengo gozo en mi alma hoy. haha I learned that I know half the song in english and half in spanish.... technically I know the whole song). Pretty much everyone was home. why cant it rain more often. My favorite part of the day was when we went to go visit a new that we had contacted a few days before. Upon clapping, we found that not only he was there, but also about 6 others. after talking to the new through the door for a bit, this lady from inside yelled Pasa! (come in). We ended up teaching all of them and inviting them all to baptism. That was pretty sweet. We actually had something similar to that happen 3 times that day. I was just walking around on a spiritual high all day. I pray that this lasts

Other than that, I had a really cool experience giving a blessing

oh, and MAN the mission can change people. haha, I Gave a huge talk this sunday based on just notes I had prepared. Before my mission I had to write everything down, but now... haha I could have kept talking for at least 10 more minutes. I did end op using the rest of the time though. Sorry comp.

Oh and I realized something
I COULD TOTALLY BE A DENTIST WHEN I GROW UP! I would already have my halloween costume picked out and everything. We went to the dentist this week because Eldr Choque has to get a root canal on one of his molars. SUPER interesting. The dentist let me stand there and watch the entire process. Man that was cool!!!!!:D

LOVE YALL TONS!!!! Pray for miracles and with all your might. Hope you all have a great week

Elder Eliason

hey mom, can you forward this to Aunt D (dulsanna)? Thanks:D

My friend Kenzie Fennel once asked me what I would look like with long hair.  well, this is probably the closest Im ever going to get.  in the pic Im actually at the barber.

UMBRELLA FIGHT!

Learn wisdom in thy youth

KIDS AT HOME!!!!!!! BRUSH YOUR TEETH!!!!! ADULTS AT HOME!!!!!! BRUSH YOUR TEETH!!! PARENTS!!! TAKE YOUR KIDS TO THE DENTIST PREFERABLY TWICE A YEAR!!!!!! trust me, it will save you a ton of pain later.

So it came to pass that this week was kind of a tough one. my comp has a super big cavity in one of his molars that has exposed the nerve to air and food. we're working on a solution right now, but hes been in a bunch of pain this week.
Yah not a whole ton of great stories this week, but hey, everyone has those weeks on their mission. I will say that I have learned a ton though. I have felt the spìrit a lot, and really have gotten a ton out of the refiners fire.
I will say that we had a super fun intercambio this week with one of my buds from the ccm! ELDER JOHNSON!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D (hahahahaahaha, that probably doesnt help much in identifying. There are a lot of Elder Johnsons) We ended up having a super interesting discussion with a guy about the plan of salvation, where we had to explain the purpose of God sending christ to the world and why he was willing to sacrifice his son. On top of that, we did a service project at the church helping the branch clean out a room just filled with random things. WE FOUND A FOOSBALL TABLE IN THERE!!:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D That got us both excited.
and..... yep. I love yall a ton and hope that yall have an amazing week!!!!:D
ELDER Eliason:D

ICE!!!!! AS IN PENGUINES AS IN IGLUES AS IN ICE!!!!!!

I would love that if someone got that quote. Can I just say FANTASTIC MOVIES!!!!!!:D
Bwahhahahaahha so highlight of the week=
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!!!:D
For it came to pass that it was a fantastic day. I was able to enjoy a wonderful service of church, talk to my family on skype!!!!!!!!, and bring the sacrament to a fantastic old (93 years old) lady who is pretty much the missionary mom here (man I love her. Im not quite sure what her real name is, but we all call her chacita, and she is pretty much the kindest, most loving old lady youll ever meet).
Haha so some things I learned during the skype call with my family. Apparently I have to work on my spelling in these letters. I guess I forgot in one of my last ones that the word house is not spelt hows...... yeah.
Really cool thing though. so brittany got home this past week!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU BRITTANY:D anyways. the last baptism she had in brasil is moving to a place called chuy. Chuy just so happens to be in my zone. when I told her that, she got super uber excited. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CHANCE. I dont know how he does it, but god really can bring forth many mighty works at the same time, so perfectly that everything works out. It absolutely blows my mind. All one has to have is faith and let christ take the reigns and man..... "there can be miracles, if we believe....." (#princeofegypt).
Oh yah, I almost forgot to address the title of this letter. IT IS COLD HERE!!!!! well some of the days. Right now its fine, but man. this week there have been many nights where I have slept in my underarmor pants and shirt, along with wool socks and hat, and a sweater. Yeah, as it turns out, It is the same temperature in side here as it is outside. Lets just say that I am super grateful for the gas portable heater we have in the house. The only thing is we cant leave it on too long, or..... yeah thats dangerous.
OH yeah!!!!! CAMBIOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Elder Sims has left our little town of varela, for the big city of Montevideo. haha Im going to miss that guy, he was a really good friend.
MY NEW COMP IS ELDER CHOQUE!!!!!!!!:D He's a super nice peruvian who is also my district leader (haha all of my comps except elder sims have been district leaders)
So I dont have a ton of time left, but I will say that I have had some really cool experiences these past few days that can either be seen as tender mercies or miracles. Really the two kind of mix. On top of this, I can totally testify that ether 12:27 is true. I am becoming so much better at being a missionary. It has been great. Anyways, I love yall a ton and pray that you all can really feel the spirit and see the tender mercies of the lord in your lives this week.
Lots of love,
Elder Eliason

If you could hie to varela in the twinkling of my comps eye

Its like a [bitter sweet] symphony, just keep listening. and pretty soon youll start, to figure out [that Im staying here in varela and gaining a new comp named Elder Choki? from peru that has one change more than me in the mission and that Ill meet him tomorrow and that elder sims is heading to morones and leaving me here.  sad day!!!! Im going to freakin miss that guy, but its okay, because we've already planned the Lord of the rings marathon and disney classics that I havent seen (such as the lion king) for marathon after the mission. Im super stoked to meet Elder Choki though.]

Im pretty sure thats how that song at the end of meet the mormons goes. Speaking of meet the mormons!!!!!! HOLY COW HAVE YALL SEEN THAT MOVIE!!!!!!! ITS SUPER FANTASTIC AND AMAZING AND FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Just saying, thats a super spiritual movie that you should share with others. It Is an amazing missionary tool. We're going to try in the coming weeks to have all the young single adults from our stake come to Varela, go out into the streets and just invite everyone to a fireside at the church and just show that movie. Im super stoked for that!"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Anyway, this week we had a few really cool moments. Haha one of which being that we were just walking in the streets, heading over to an investigators house monday night when this 16 year old kid ran up to us, started walking with us and just asking profound questions about repentance and doctrine. We answered his questions and he told us that he already has a book of mormon "with the prophets Alma and Nephi" and knows that it is true. He then asked us if we could teach him...... Yeah lets just say that Elder Sims and I were both like "TENDER MERCIES/MIRACLES!!!!!!!!!!!":D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D after Paulo (the kid) left. He's super cool we've had a charla with him and have another tonight, in the last one, he asked some super interesting deep question, it was a fun charla explaining some things I never had to explain before. Oh ya, haha one of the other super cool parts of the contact was when we asked when we could teach him. After deciding on Wednesday at 8, he told us. yeah, that would be great. Every wednesday at 8. We were floored when he told us that. The only problem is that his parents hate us (I dont know why people do that), and dont want him to progress. In other words, we'll keep teaching him, once a week and try to talk to his parents, but if that doesnt work out, he'll get baptised and begin progressing in a year and a half.

Also super cool was this reference from a member we contacted. Her name is dorotea and is just a super nice old lady. she's kind of lonely and we quickly decided to try and get all the members involved in teaching her. For we did contact her on friday, but when saturday came upon us, she did not appear. The following day however told a differing tale. The hours of church had come to a close and the branch was about to head out, when Dorotea showed up at the entrance to the chapel. upon seeing her, We ran to greet her and see how she was doing. We talked a bit and she apologized for being absent the day prior. In a moment, Hermana Brenda was there at the door greeting her with a "hey, I know you!" For it came to pass that they had been friends for years, but had just failed to see each other. Then Norma came around the corner and there was another "Hey, I know you too." For it came to pass that they too had been friends for years. Dorotea ended up knowing many of the strongest members of the branch. Sooooooo great. We passed by that day and introduced her to one more (Javier), and have since taught her twice with Javier. Its been so cool!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Okay, my time is up for this week. I love yall.

OH MY GOODNESS I ALMOST FORGOT!!!!!!! MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU....... yesterday:D

Hope yall have an amazing week!!!!!:D
